As a long time Namco fan, I had a blast when I saw this game during the Switch 2 announcement. Just like you, I wanted this since I played the Turbo Mode version on the original PSX. Still, it would be nice if Bandai Namco releases a new Namco Museum with this bundled with other 3D arcade titles that never saw a console release like Rave Racer and Prop Cycle.
Agreed…we need a Namco Museum series dedicated to their 3D arcade games. With Arcade Archives alive and well, that Rave Racer port might actually happen.
I’m not sure I’ve heard of Prop Cycle before. But I watched a video of it just now and it’s giving me vibes of Pilotwings. Also, the music and visual aesthetic of the signage in the game bears a strong resemblance to Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (and Lunatea’s Veil).
Seeing Prop Cycle’s gameplay makes me feel like a kid again. Thanks for putting me on to it!
I'm a big fan of Ridge Racer and I’d like to play this version, just not at that price. Feels more like a novelty at this point, so nearly 20 bucks is a bit much. Still, nice to see this classic made easily available. Great write-up too!
